EV uptake is on the rise both globally and locally here in Australia and government policy and support is a critical part of this market transition. Since mid-2021 there has been a significant uplift in public policy with respect to supporting electric vehicle uptake, with most State and Territory governments announcing updated policies and measures to directly support consumers in purchasing an Electric Vehicle such as the Nissan LEAF. Please see below a summary of the policies announced in each jurisdiction. Please note that Federal, State and Territory Government programs and eligibility criteria are subject to change at any time and we encourage you to regularly check government sites and terms and conditions to confirm details of the respective programs and eligibility criteria: The information provided on this webpage is general in nature and does not take into consideration your personal situation. Find out how it's like to own and drive an electric vehicle - how you can charge its battery at home and on the go, and how you're covered when you own a Nissan LEAF.
GO THE DISTANCE IN THE LEAF e+

GO THE DISTANCE IN THE LEAF e+

Break free from the grid in the Nissan LEAF e+ with a 385km°° battery range, so you can care less about charging your car and more about charging ahead – it’s 100% electric unleashed.

HOW TO GET MORE RANGE FROM EVERY CHARGE?

Speed, driving style, topography and weather conditions can affect battery performance. More speed uses more energy, so the faster you drive the more often you’ll have to charge. To maximise your range, try to keep your driving smooth and steady. Increase the time between charges with ECO Mode or B mode regenerative braking.

HOW TO GET MORE RANGE FROM EVERY CHARGE?

B MODE: RECOVER BRAKING ENERGY

Serious about maxing out your range? Activate B Mode. It delivers more regenerative braking, which charges the battery without compromising on driving power.

B MODE: RECOVER BRAKING ENERGY

ECO MODE: LIMIT ENGINE OUTPUT

Choose ECO Mode to limit accelerator response and output in order to save energy and maximise range. To get the most mileage out of your Nissan LEAF, use B mode and ECO mode at the same time.

ECO MODE: LIMIT ENGINE OUTPUT

2/3| INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY BRAKING

In the case of an imminent collision, alerts sound before automatic braking is applied, to reduce speed and help you avoid or mitigate a frontal collision with a vehicle ahead.

The Nissan LEAF can be plugged into any standard 240V electrical socket. With a Type 2 charging unit installed, the LEAF can reach full charge in 7.5 hours3, so you can charge overnight and start the day with a full 270km of range°.

ON THE GO

ON THE GO

From regional highways to major shopping centres and office buildings, there are over 800 public charging stations across Australia. Many public charging stations offer CHAdeMO charging, a fast charging system that charges the LEAF battery from 20% to 80% in just 60 minutesΩ.
